Using a sketchbook

I just got home from 10 days in Mexico, and I’ve been using a sketchbook daily. Its a new practice for me  particularly that if keeping everything in one (small!) place. I’ve always used the studio wall as my sketch book, including at art school, where I would photograph the large scale assembled pages and thoughts to add to a sketch book. Large scale, movable and temporary has always felt best.

Recently though it’s felt important to have a wee book with me. I’ve been using new materials :felt pens, coloured pencils, and using drawing and text together. I’m really loving it  and wondering where it will take me next.

I loved the tips in this article…
