I feel like writing a letter. It starts – Dear creatives, dear humans, dear fellow isolated and fearful friends. How shall we get through this time? I have felt myself shrinking and retreating fast – my whole body closing up as I read more and more online about this virus. But this is not good for my health, and I need to seek ways to continue to reach out and connect. There are lots of things we can do, and today I read this useful list:
Mental Health Foundation – top tips to get through
I’m such an in-person person, and I’ve been planning a new range of classes for this year, and excited about teaching again. But everything needs to shift for a while. So how do we not just stay glued to the news in our separate homes?
I’ve been wanting to make a podcast of drawing exercises for a while, and I’m keen to hear if this might be a good way to stay creative while we can’t get together. I’m thinking…
- A podcast that is like a class – an hour, including grounding exercises and drawing exercises.
- Funding to supply drawing kits for those who don’t have resources for materials
- A Facebook page where we could share our drawings and experiences.
I’d really love to hear what you think of this idea, and if you’d be interested in joining in! I for one could sure do with some creative community….
I’d be looking at offering this in May, once I’ve had time to do the recordings, apply for funding, and get us set up and ready to go.
Let me know what you think!
