The Anti-Perfectionism Drawing Class
Tuesday nights 6.30 – 8.30pm, Studio 30, Toi Poneke
Sept 14th, 21st, 28th, 5th October. All materials, and model fees provided – $245 per person
A series of 4 creative workshops to get together, connect and explore through anti-perfectionist, expressive drawing. We will make abstract, expressive drawings, and also draw a model for 2 sessions.
Developed over lockdown, March 2020, this class creates a space where learning, making mistakes, and relaxing through creative play is ok and welcomed. Lets make a mess, get moving on the page, and enjoy some time together!
Everything is moving so fast, so these sessions will provide an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and share. Whatever speed you’re moving at is all good, whatever feelings you’re having, are welcome. The page is your space, to explore and see.
We will use a variety of materials, and techniques that are accessible to all, regardless of experience. The environment created will be a fun, supportive and safe place with a sense of community and connection.
What people said last time-
“I felt like I was in a safe, stress free place from the get go…”
“I really enjoyed your gentle approach at teaching and your ability to guide us through our journey by sharing techniques and ideas, rather than strict rules on how we are ‘meant to draw.’
“I have a new found joy in using charcoal as a way to connect with whanau and help with creative block.”
“enlightening, tranquil and engaging.”
